John Blakey, BAYC Member #634 and owner of the motor yacht Lady Amanda is launching a collection of NFTs that provide sailing experiences and events for consumers. The Board Yachts Club NFT Collection will be a revolutionary step in the accessibility and inclusion of luxury yachting. Inspired by the BAYC ecosystem, Bored Yachts Club promises to combine the spirit of the Web3 community with real-life sailing experiences.
The NFT collection includes 8,200 passes in three levels: “Flipper”, “Deckhand” and “Sailor”. These passes qualify for token drops and YachtCoin, redeemable for cruises and events. YachtCoin serves as a utility and charity DAO token. Which is responsible for the YachtCoin Foundation.
Yachtverse and YachtCoin
Additionally, Bored Yachts Club gives NFT holders access to Yachtverse. This Figital Universe allows users to join the Web3 community and board the Mediterranean. You can also attend events such as Cannes Film Festival, Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix and Voiles de Saint Tropez.
Plans are also in place for a fully-fledged YachtCoin Foundation. In short, this foundation will manage YachtCoin and promote charity events to encourage other yacht owners to join the community. Through the work of the Foundation, Bored Yachts Club aims to build an international decentralized sailing club that combines entertainment, technology and sustainability.
Who is behind this flagship Web3 venture?
The Bored Boats Club is run by Jade Comer, also known as Captain John Blakey. Komer is the founder and CEO of Melanion Capital, an asset management company specializing in digital assets and the issuer of the first Bitcoin-themed ETF in Europe.
It’s safe to say that Comer is an expert on all things crypto and a huge fan of sailing. This latest trial is the first step towards launching a project that will transform the space for cruise ships in the NFT space.
