The international marketing event – Prime Early Access Sale – will be held on October 11 and 12 in 15 countries, especially for Prime members, the company said in a press release on Monday that it will offer “hundreds of thousands of deals”.
For its new deals event, Amazon is introducing a Top 100 list of “some of the season’s favorites and talents” in electronics, fashion, home, kitchen, pets, toys and Amazon devices. The e-tailer also offers holiday gift guides and “Toys We Love” lists.
Amazon held its traditional Prime Day sale in July, and this year, members worldwide bought more than 300 million items in 48 hours, saving more than $1.7 billion, according to the company.
The decision for a second day of sales comes amid signs the global economy is slowing as central banks raise interest rates to fight inflation. In Europe, the situation has been exacerbated by the war in Ukraine, which began in February with Russia, and rising oil prices around the world.
Amazon shares are down 32% this year, compared with a 23% loss in the S&P 500 SPX.
