BAYC founder Gordon Gonner pointed out that AppFest 2023 should be both digital and physical. The idea came about after an exchange on Twitter between IprobableIo founder and CEO Herman Narula, BAYC member GratefulApe.Eth and BAYC founder.

BAYC Gordon Goner tweets about physical and digital ApeFest
Over the weekend, ImprobableIo co-founder and CEO Herman Narula tweeted about GratefulApp.it:
“For those of you who can’t make it to the IRL venue, imagine the next Monkey Party happening at @OthersideMeta. That was so sick.”
Narula agreed with the BAYC member, which in turn attracted the attention of Gordon Goner.
Hours later, Gordon Goner replied:
“Definitely. There’s bound to be some hurdles with musician contracts and what we’re allowed to stream. But we’re going to make it work. Monkey Fest should be a digital + physical experience.”
Gordon Gonner’s answer caused much excitement in the bored monkey community.
“I’ve seen popular festivals with great artists streamed live on Twitch and YouTube. Money may not be the answer, but it’s definitely possible to do the work. I will be there in person either way.” @whosprof tweeted.
“Actually, this is the future of Metavas in my opinion. (out of play). Bringing a common event experience to the people at home will be great. Added @jschmidtdmd.
What is ApeFest?
ApeFest is an annual event celebrating the Boarding Ape Yacht Club. The first ApeFest took place in October 2021 and included a costume contest, cruise party and immersive gallery experience.
This year’s event took place in New York during NFT.NYC. LCD Soundsystem featured an exciting lineup including Questlove, Haim, Lil Baby, Snoop Dogg and Eminem. Undoubtedly, next year’s event will be bigger and better than ever – especially if Gordon Gonner’s promise of a digital counterpart comes true.
