TOKYO (Reuters) – Chubu Electric Power, Oryx (NYSE: ) Corp and other Japanese companies are considering investing in Toshiba (OTC: ) Corp , the newspaper reported on Sunday.
Toshiba is publicly seeking strategic proposals and restructuring after the acquisition, including going private.
Among the bidders selected for the second round, Japan Industrial Partners (GIP), a local equity firm, approached more than 10 companies, including Chubu Electric and Oryx, to bid as a consortium of Japanese companies. Nikkei reported without citing sources.
