CryptoArt Sundays: An Interview with Erica Reiling

Welcome art lovers from all over the world to CryptoArt Sunday. This week I am pleased to introduce you to a very unique and talented artist Erica Rilling.

Erica is a professional artist based in New York City, and the creator of the NFT collection Cryptovenus. Creativity has always been her passion, and during the pandemic she finally realized her dream of helping others heal through art.

So let’s get to it and find out about her art journey and her experiences in the world of NFT art so far!

How did you find out about the NFT space, and what drew you to create your own NFTs?

I learned about NFTs in a March 2021 newsroom – but not until I personally met people in the space. I saw men having so much success in NFTs and I wanted a piece of the pie to create something that I enjoyed as a woman and if I couldn’t make room for people who wanted to build it.

When I first got involved in Web 3 I didn’t see a lot of charity work going on and I knew that with the amount of capital floating around there was an opportunity to do some good things and have some fun in the process.

How often do you create?

I create every day, painting in the studio, taking photos with my camera or my phone… even on days when I’m focused on my admin work and my business, it’s great to make a playlist or do a little flower arrangement. An outlet and a way to add some beauty to my day and experience something new. ABC, my motto is – always create ?

What is your creative process?

Be seen, be seen, be seen. It means whatever comes out – even if it’s just to get a wiggle out. Once you demonstrate enough, it starts to make sense and you can get into a state of flow.

Are there any CryptoArtists you would like to collaborate with?

Yam Karkai will be amazing!! I also love Tyler Hobb’s work.

What do you think the future of CryptoArt looks like?

It changes with the technology – once we’re all inside a virtual reality headset, looking at art in the Metaverse, the possibilities are truly endless. Beyond that, I hope more women will be recognized and stepped up for their contributions – the more balance in space will be beautiful for everyone.

What are you working on now?

I am currently painting in the studio and preparing for my solo exhibition at the end of October. It’s going to be in NYC but we’re going to have it happen in MetaVas at the same time, which is great. What a time to be alive!

Where can collectors find your work?
