DAOnload: Location in Web3 – Atlanta Blockchain Center

In the past two years, technology has become a bridge for human communication. While the tools and practices have improved, nothing beats having another like-minded person across the table to explore ideas and share perspectives.

Rooted in the bars of Vienna and the ramshackle tables of Lockheed’s Skunkworks, there’s magic in the potential of these IRL meetings, and that magic isn’t easy to replicate in the digital realm. It is not impossible, but today it is limited.

In a well-crafted concrete building with a wall featuring popular NFT art, the Atlanta Blockchain Center is building a community around education, innovation and innovation. It is the hub of Web3 buzz, activation and innovation with weekly events and speakers. ABC is organized as a DAO. And holders of $BUIDL or one of the ABC NFTs would prefer to have access to a collaborative hacker space and deal flow from an incubator led by Starter Labs.

Last month I was asked to host a panel with three inspiring entrepreneurs at the intersection of music and the web3, and I caught up with Angela Brasington, Chief Marketing Officer of the Atlanta Blockchain Center, to learn more.

What inspired you to start the Atlanta Blockchain Center?

At Starter Labs, the parent company of the Atlanta Blockchain Center, we knew the bear market was coming and we wanted to diversify what we were doing. Part of that plan was to bring our virtual incubator and launch pad to real life. We’ve launched 63 DiFi projects from around the world that have raised over $45 million on our platform. startup.xyz. We understand exactly what it takes to identify a large project and how to prepare for a smooth and successful token launch.

We recognize Miami as a leader in the crypto scene, but we’ve also noticed that Miami’s crypto community is just that – all crypto. Our founder is a developer at heart and continues to code every day. We were more interested in creating awareness around the technology that made crypto possible while educating people about other incredibly impactful use cases of blockchain technology.

When we visited Atlanta, we found a growing FinTech industry and the #4 College of Technology in America (along with other top tech schools). Also known as Atlanta “Shopping Street”, processes 70% of the world’s payment transactions. However, when searching for blockchain groups, meetups, and events, we found a few inactive groups from a few years ago.

It seemed strange because Atlanta seemed like the perfect base to be the blockchain hub, if not the blockchain hub of the United States. We quickly put the puzzle together and saw the opportunity before us. Then we continued to do what we do best: BUIDL! First the concept, then planning and finally figuring out how to execute our exciting new chapter.

Tell me about Starter Labs and their relationship with ABC.

Startup Labs is an umbrella or parent company for many DeFi, web3 and blockchain-related products and initiatives. launch.xyz It is a multi-chain launch pad, incubator and investor network for businesses building on blockchain.

We are engaged in 5 blockchains: Binance smart chain, Polygon, Ethereum, Fantom and Avalanche. Taking our experience from Starter, we launched ABC as our first IRL initiative. Among many things we Creating projects And raising money with investors; Just like Starter, but all physically! It was a nice change to get out of the spotlight and meet our community face-to-face.

How do you see The DAO growing in the next year?

We are still in learning mode with DAO. Some people are new and educated, while others are members of multiple DAOs. We are working hard to make sure everyone understands how it all works. I’ve seen the most active members get more involved, ask great questions, and come up with ideas.

As a result, we begin to see the same Organization committee Creating. Once that happens, I’d love to see a timeline of events, initiatives, partnerships and collaborations and how they can generate funds for a well-run treasury.

What advice would you give to someone starting a DAO to keep the community aligned and connected?

Remind yourself every day how important it is to connect and participate in the DAO community. Then do it! I can’t stress it enough.

Discord is great for creating channels to get the community talking and finding creative ways to engage. Separating channels allows people to engage with content that is relevant to them. It’s the best way to keep them active because they’re seeing what they want to see. We have a ‘general chat’ channel where all members can communicate openly with each other.

We have an ‘Introduce Yourself’ channel where new members can introduce themselves, see who’s who, and meet as new members join. With Blockchain, Web 3 and the industry in general, we have a ‘rabbit hole’ channel that allows people to go down the rabbit hole on any topic. And many others, including our DAO Management Channel, where NFT-holding DAO members A member can vote on proposals. It’s important to structure your channels in a way that encourages activity and provides value to members.

What are the key elements of a successful Web3 Investor deployment?

It should be clear and concise. He should effectively solve the problem being solved and the steps being taken to solve the problem. Along with this, the business model should be accurately defined with realistic revenue forecasts.

Trust me, it’s not pretty to show $20M in projected revenue For Year 1. Investors don’t want to see that because we know it’s unrealistic for most businesses, especially the ones we work with that are primarily early stage.

The group should be listed with photos, and you should be prepared to discuss their level of involvement. A well-thought-out roadmap is key. I want to know where you’re going, how you’re going to get there, and if the team can realistically execute that.

Which projects from the first incubator group are you excited about?

I’m really excited about all three projects and their founders. All are unique and different in their own way.

Created by Jeremiah Long WedgeFocused on community outreach to educate businesses and the general public about Web3 technology. He has made tremendous strides in reaching out to community groups to advance his mission.

Created by Keith Wilson Helix Automotive, the world’s first Metaverse automotive manufacturer. Keith’s work experience Ford It provides a rich insight into the auto industry, including what doesn’t work well. It has built ways to capitalize on that and bring value to both automakers and consumers.
