The social media behemoth, Meta, has increased NFT sharing on its flagship products, Instagram and Facebook, opening the long-rumored token integration to all users in the United States. This comes in addition to enabling Instagram NFT capabilities for everyone 100 countries Participate in the digital collection program.
Following the update, users in covered areas can connect 1 of 5 different wallets to the service, with Metamask, Coinbase, Dapper, Rainbow and Trust Wallet all supported in the program. Users can upload their favorite NFTs to Instagram and share them with their followers, while those in the USA can post their assets on their Facebook accounts.
The move follows extensive testing from the Meta development team, including a pilot program that began in May and expanded elsewhere in August. Now, as the social media demi-god pushes the boundaries further, NFTs will be more accessible than ever.
Despite clear support for the technology, Instagram has become a hub. As for bad practices in the NFT sector, just last month saw its Sandbox account hacked when its security protocols were breached. So, before you go in with wild abandon, make sure you take a hot bag with no valuables or money to Instagram.
