
Walmart has entered the metaverse with the launch of Walmart Land and Walmart Universe of Play on Roblox. The Metaverse gaming platform has 52.2 million daily active users and 11.3 billion hours of engagement. “Our customers are spending more time,” said a Walmart executive.

US retail giant Walmart has announced the launch of “Walmart Land” and “Walmart’s Universe of Play” on Metaverse gaming platform Roblox.
The ad explains that Walmart Land will provide an avatar with a virtual store that displays merchandise. a physics-defying ferris wheel; And unlockable tokens and badges that can be found in various games and tournaments. Walmart Universe of Play will have “Toys of the Year,” the retail giant announced. “The Roblox community can explore different toy worlds to earn coins for cool virtual items, or complete exciting challenges to build a personal trophy case, unlock secret codes, and more.”
Walmart US Chief Marketing Officer William White commented:
Roblox is one of the fastest growing and largest platforms in the Metaverse, and we know our customers spend a lot of time with it.
“So, we’re focusing on creating new and innovative experiences that will delight them, which we’re doing in the communities they live in and the virtual worlds they’re now playing in,” he detailed.
Roblox is an online gaming platform that is particularly popular with Generation Z. As of June 30, Roblox has 52.2 million daily active users, 11.3 billion hours of engagement, 12 million creators and 32 million experiences, according to the company’s website.
Some other major companies and celebrities have used Roblox for their Metaverse business. In July, electronics giant Samsung announced the launch of Samsung Space Tycoon on Roblox. Reality TV star Paris Hilton created an island called Paris World on Roblox in December last year and played electronic music on her virtual island on New Year’s Eve.
Bank of England analysts said in August that crypto assets could have important roles in the measure. Earlier this year, Goldman Sachs said MetaVas could be an $8 trillion opportunity. McKinsey & Company expects Metaverse to generate $5 trillion by 2030. Meanwhile, Citi predicts that the Metaverse economy could grow from $8 trillion to $13 trillion by 2030.
