Ross Goodwin performed an AI poem at Metaverse Art Week

Decentraland recently hosted the third Metaverse Art Week, which saw top digital artists showcase their best work and the participation of beauty brand Estee Lauder. At the week-long event, all kinds of art media were used to showcase technological advances and human creativity.

One of these comes from Ross Goodwin, a well-known author and data scientist. Goodwin created the space hosted by Artnet AI piece of poetry “I lie in the desert because the desert is a lie” in collaboration with Metapoet Sasha Stiles.

AI poetry

Generative AI poetry, as the name suggests, uses AI to create lines of poetry. Usually the poet provides a single line, word or image and the AI takes it from there. AI, in this case, is designed by Good And words provided by the Decentraland team and the result was done by Metaverse in Ross’s avatar.

Given the warm reception of that performance, there’s no doubt that we’ll be seeing more creative AI poetry at future art weeks and on the internet in general.
